CANCER ONCOLOGY

Cancer Oncology is the branch of medicine that deals with the study, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. It focuses on how cancer develops, spreads, and responds to various treatments.

There are three main types of oncology:

  • Medical Oncology – uses chemotherapy, targeted therapy, and immunotherapy.

  • Surgical Oncology – removes tumors through surgery.

  • Radiation Oncology – uses radiation to kill cancer cells.

Oncologists work to detect cancer early, plan treatment, and support patients throughout recovery and follow-up care.
